Life Membership for Vic Garn

Vic has been an active member of the Wyalkatchem  Bowling Club from its (and his!) early years. From the time he first came home from school, his father encouraged him to take part in work on the greens and he is fairly sure that he was there when the first greens were planted. 

Vic has been head of the greens committee for many years, a pennant captain and selector, has been chosen for league and interzone bowls and has been club patron for the last 15 years. His wins have included two club singles, pairs, league events and many others. He has attended country week bowls on numerous occasions.

He is a generous sponsor of the club, sponsoring the prestigious C.F. Garn Memorial Men's pairs event, the Ladies Pairs shield and the Men's Runner up singles trophy.

Vic has never sought to hold major positions in the club, preferring to stay in the background putting in a great deal of work by attending most busy bees, suggesting improvements for the green and always working hard for the club, expecting no recognition.  Vic's expression was a picture when it dawned on him that he was receiving the Life membership! Congratulations, a well deserved award Vic.
