"Murphy's Revenge Another Winner for Paul de Pierres and the Team

24-05-2007
"Murphy's Revenge" the third musical by this talented group of people was a huge success.

A full house both nights was entertained by the story of Murphy, the ghost of the old Wylie pub. Craig Ward as Murphy, had everyone enthralled with his mask, white flowing robe and attitude. Brad Phillips and Dwayne Sobey as Brad E and Goof E provoked much laughter in their accurate portrayal of hotel regulars!  Will Nightingale was main man Kenny with Rachel playing the Irish barmaid charmingly. Marcus Reilly had dual roles as Kenny's dad and the local JP, both convincingly portrayed. Michele Garn and Owen Garner in their cross dressing roles as Brittle Ted and Lola were a huge hit, bringing audience members to tears. Lynda Holdsworth as Helga the barmaid was a hoot and really looked the part in blonde pigtails.  Stage managers were Tracey Robertson and Russell Cockman making a return appearance to Wylie

Popular band Big Jim and the Jock Straps provided the music and the lyrics by Paul de Pierres were once again memorable; the audience were able to follow the words in the program. Singers were Barb Garner and Cam Hudson accompanied by Tom McCormack, Paul (Big Jim) de Pierres and Graham Dickson on guitar, with Darren Garn on drums and Howling Steve Gamble on harmonica.  Stephen's harmonica solo received a standing ovation.

The Wylie 7 Bootscooters performed during the evening with Bev Ashelford, Marg Cole, Kaye Bloomfield, Lyn Jones, Chris Clarke and Ann Metcalfe getting everyone's toes tapping.

Congratulations to all concerned for a great show.
