Wyalkatchem Medical Centre
A brand new Medical Centre, located next to the Hospital has just been completed at a cost of $545,000. The hospital and the medical centre are connected by a covered walk way. The medical centre will used by the Doctor and other allied health services professionals. The Medical Centre has been funded by the Shire in conjunction with the Regional Medical Infrastructure Fund and the Shires of Koorda and Dowerin and the Western Australian Country Health Service.
The Medical Centre began operation on December 1st 2008 with Doctor Chris Sudell as General Practitioner and Mrs Jenny Sudell Practice Manager and Clinical Nurse. The Surgery includes a pharmacy for prescription items with a wide range of other products available. Residents of Wyalkatchem, Dowerin and Koorda were invited to see the new facilities at an Open Day held in mid November.
