General Hand / All Rounder

Full Time, Nine Day Fortnight CLOSING TODAY

The Shire of Wyalkatchem requires a full-time team member to join our Works Team.  If you have a positive attitude and ability to work safely as part of a team, we want you.

The Shire of Wyalkatchem requires a General Hand / All Rounder to be part of a flexible, forward-looking team maintaining the shire’s roads and community spaces, including parks and gardens. Experience and ability to operate and maintain plant and equipment is a required part of the job. The Shire of Wyalkatchem invests in its people, and training and development will be included in your work program.

Employment conditions are in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2020.  A minimum C Class license is a requirement to apply (MR / HR class highly desirable) and you must demonstrate or be willing to work towards the following knowledge and skills:

Required:

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team; follow instructions and carry out work in a timely manner.
  • Organise work effectively and manage time well.
  • Apply problem solving skills and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of Work Health and Safety requirements.

 

Desirable:

  • Local Government or contracting experience in building, mechanical, landscaping, construction or trades.
  • Experience in the operation of plant equipment and an understanding of relevant plant and equipment maintenance requirements.
  • Experience in basic building maintenance tasks.

Administration Role

The Shire of Wyalkatchem has one vacancy for a capable and effective administration officer. You must have a positive customer focussed attitude, take pride in doing a good job and an ability to consistently deliver good outcomes.

As a minimum, you should be familiar and comfortable with computer use and be organised, manage time well and be a self-starter. A background in administration will be well-regarded but a positive, solution driven attitude is your most important attribute.

This is a full-time position with immediate start for the right candidate.
