STATEMENT BY THE SHIRE PRESIDENT

I am pleased to advise the Wyalkatchem community, our neighbouring shires and all with an interest in local government, that the Council of the Shire of Wyalkatchem has appointed a Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Tom Kettle, currently Manager of Governance at the Town of Port Hedland, has a law degree, board experience and 14 years in the local government sector, including roles at Rockingham and Capel. Tom is keen to engage with the community and assist Council in delivery of its vision for the Shire of Wyalkatchem.

Council conducted a thorough recruitment process with assistance from Emily Bulloch of Beilby Dowing Teal and independent selection panel member Mr David Holdsworth; I’d like to thank both for their contributions. Council is pleased with this selection and excited to work with their future CEO.
