The Shire of Wyalkatchem will reduce access hours and days to the shire waste facility. Commencing Saturday 7 March 2026, the Shire waste site in Cemetery Rd will have changed opening hours.  Each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday the site will open 7am to 12 noon only and be closed at all other times. The site will be closed on public holidays. A three-month trial will be conducted to assess the suitability of opening hours and patronage of the site and public comment invited prior to the end of the trial in June. A great deal of work has been done at the site to extend its life and better manage waste - including significant illegal dumping.  Fencing, cameras and signage has been improved and monitoring will result in offenders being prosecuted.  Thank you for your understanding and co-operation as improvements are made.
